Mission Statement
Ross Sheppard High School is a proud community committed to life-long learning
and a tradition of
excellence. We provide a safe environment that focuses on teaching and active learning
through diverse programming. This gives students a belief in their own ability to
succeed, thereby preparing them for their future in a global setting.
Expectations
We emphasize commitment, responsibility and accountability. Students are encouraged
to make the personal commitment necessary to be successful in their pursuits, to
assume increasing responsibility for their educational planning and to take ownership
of their decision-making.
Code of Conduct/Technology Agreement
All students and their parent(s)/guardians are required to sign our Code of Conduct
and Technology Agreement upon registration.
Programs
Ross Sheppard presents a multi-faceted curriculum and has a long history of excellence
in all areas of instruction, including the regular academic program as well as International
Baccalaureate, Physical Education, Career and Technology Studies, Fine and Performing
Arts, and Community Learning Skills for students with special needs. International
Languages include German, Mandarin, Spanish, French, and American Sign Language.
An extensive cocurricular program of athletics, the arts, recreational, and academic
interests are enthusiastically promoted by staff.
Facilities
Ross Sheppard is located in Coronation Park. Superb facilities are complemented
by the park, which include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, two indoor ice arenas,
football and track stadium, three major playing fields, tennis courts, Odyssium,
and the Commonwealth bowling green and clubhouse facilities. Ross Sheppard High School
has recently added a high quality Fitness Centre and a Sport Therapy Institute that
further enhance our facility.
