Using Tables on Web Pages


  When you have finished this project, you will be able to:
describe what a table is
create a table on a Web page
add content and links to a table
  1. Create a new folder on your personal drive called Tables. Save everything to do with this assignment in that folder.

  2. Start a new project in Visual Page. Be sure to set the page properties, then save the page as Tables.

  3. Add a title to the Web page.

  4. Place a horizontal line underneath your title.

  5. A table consists of rows and columns. Where the rows and columns intersect a cell is formed:



  6. Create a table consisting of 3 rows and 3 columns by clicking on the Insert Table tool:



  7. On the window that opens, set the number of rows and the number of columns to 3. Leave the other options set at the defaults for now.



  8. Click the OK button when you are done, and the table will be inserted on to your Web page.

  9. You can change the properties of individual cells by right clicking in the cell, then selecting Table Properties:



  10. The following window will open:



  11. Click on the Cell tab, then Cell background color. Choose the color for the cell from the color palette.

  12. You can set other table features by using the table tools on the tool bar:



  13. Create a table that:
  14. Save the project folder in your "Hand In" folder on your personal disk space so that this project can be graded..
