Scanning Images

When you have finished this project, you will be able to:
use the scanner
describe the circumstances under which you would use a scanner
add a scanned image to your Web page

  1. Create a new folder called "Digital Imaging" for this project.

  2. The purpose of this project is to introduce you to the use of the scanner and how to place scanned images on your Web page.

  3. You will need a photograph of yourself (preferably) in order to proceed. If you do not have a photo of yourself, you will need to find a photo of somekind, including illustrations from a book. (Photographs make a better scan).

  4. Log off of your current workstation.

  5. Log on to the Scanner (Imaging Center) work station.

  6. Follow the instructions in the PPI for the scanner to scan your picture.

  7. Once you have finished scanning and saving your picture to your personal workspace, Log Off of the scanner workstation, return to your work station.

  8. Use Visual Page to start a new Web page called Digital Imaging. Remember to call it "Index".

  9. Add the scanned picture to your New Web page that you just created.

  10. Underneath the scanned picture, create a caption for the picture. This is a good time to create a 3 sentence description of yourself.

  11. Place your Logo on the web page indicating the name of your "Corporation".

  12. Place one oof the screen Captures that you created on this website as well. Indicate what piece of software you were using whenyou did the scan.

  13. Click here to see the marking guide for this project.

  14. Save this Web page, put a copy into your "Hand In" folder and continue on to the next project.
