The Grade 12 Portfolio
One of the projects that Grade 12 Computer Programming students must complete is the
Portfolio. The Portfolio is a collection of the work that you have completed during your time at Ross Sheppard
High School in the Computer Studies program. The purposes of the Portfolio are to - depending on which courses
you have taken:
- demonstrate your knowledge of Web page programming
- demonstrate your knowledge of Visual Basic programming
- provide examples of your work for potential employers
- provide a means of taking your work with you when you graduate
The Portfolio project, if properly completed, will be awarded an extra credit in
Special Projects.
You must present the Portfolio on a CD-ROM. Your teacher will assist you with this
part of the project. For all other aspects of the Portfolio, you must work independently.
The requirements for the Portfolio are listed below:
- use a Web page for all links
- include a resume in Rich Text Format, Portable Document Format, or in HTML
- include examples of Web page programming
- include examples of Visual Basic programs
- include examples of Web Pages you have created
- be burned on a self-running CD-ROM
The purpose of the Portfolio is to "show off" what you have learned and what you can do. Therefore,
you need to include your very best work. Hopefully, you will submit the CD-ROM to a potential employer and the
information and work that you have included in your Portfolio will be of sufficient quality so the employer will
hire you.
The Portfolio Project is due on the last day of classes in each semester. No late Portfolios will be accepted.
