This years team had a very strong core of grade twelve's that had been either part
of last years Senior Boys championship team or that of the Junior Boys championship
team. Expectations were high and with the addition of three very talent grade tens
the team was set to defend its city title. We finished league play first in our division
with a 5 and 1 record. The play offs began well with a victory over J. Percy Page
in the quarterfinal. Next was Strathcona who had an identical 5 and 1 record. The
semi final became a very hard fought battle with both sides missing numerous scoring
opportunities. The 1-1 tie eventually led to penalty kicks, which we lost 4-3. This
was the end of a very good soccer season at Ross Sheppard High School. Even though
we did not defend our title, we did participate in the Titan
Cup. We won the tournament, going undefeated against some very strong competition
from host Harry Ainlay, this year's playoff semi finalist W.P. Wagner and this years
city champion McNally. Coach Gerke and Coach Milham want to thank the team for all
the hard work put in to this season and we want to wish our grade twelve's success
in their future endeavors.
